It was on a tour around the world, when in Saud Arabia the resting plane was attacked. They tried to escape, but did not get far that’s why they left this plane in the desert.
According to the Wikipedia the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina successfully carried out submarine hunter, bomber, convoy escort and pilot rescue missions on the side of the allies.
In contrast with the wreckage we can offer you a still flying Catalina we filmed on the Wolfgangsee on the last summer.
