Last wekeend we went to a seaplane meeting in Hauho, Finland, it was in 2011 the XXXVI. Splash In of the Sea- and Skiplane Association of Finland (SSAF).
In July, 2011 Dale Kramer took off from a field behind his house, and made the first ever landing on water with an electric-powered amphibia after a 7 minutes long maiden flight.
We received a placard from Dr. Anna Ács, who is a museologist from Balatonfüred, Hungary. The placard indicates a floatplane and a flight-guide around Lake Balaton. In the 1920’s the seaplane-activity was prosperous around Lake Balaton.
There is a small but soulful community in Austria, the IG RC Wasserflug Wien-Niederösterreich. The members are all fans of radio-controlled/electronic seaplanes.
