AVIC AG600 amphibious seaplane obtained its type certificate on my video

China’s independently developed AVIC AG600 Kunlong giant amphibious firefighting aircraft on April 2025 obtained its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in Beijing, marking its successful development and approval to enter the market.

AVIC AG600 Kunlong is China’s first giant civil special-purpose large amphibious seaplane developed in accordance with the requirements of the civil aviation airworthiness regulations, boasting a max takeoff weight of 60 tonnes, max practical range of 4,500 km and cruise speed 500 km/h. Notably, it can carry as much as 12 tonnes of water for fire-fighting missions and 50 people for sea rescue missions.

I recommend the ShinMaywa US-2 Japanese giant seaplane, also on my video.
